World Health Day: Together For Health. Stand With Science

World Health Day is celebrated every year on April 7 to raise awareness about the importance of health and well-being. The 2026 theme, “Together for health. Stand with science,” reminds us that good health depends on both collective effort and informed choices. It highlights that when people come together with awareness and knowledge, a healthier society can be built.

Health is often called “wealth” because without a healthy body and mind, life becomes difficult. A healthy person can think clearly, work properly, and live happily. If individuals are healthy, society becomes strong. But if people become weak due to unhealthy habits, the whole society becomes weaker.

To stay healthy, both money and knowledge are important. Today, hospital fees, medical charges, and medicine prices are very high, which makes it difficult for many people. At the same time, there are also good and affordable options like generic medicines. People must have the knowledge to understand what to eat, what to avoid, and how to take care of their body through proper lifestyle, yoga, exercise, and sports.

Another serious issue is the role of big corporations. For money, profit, and greed, some companies are spoiling the natural system by promoting unhealthy lifestyles. They sell packaged and processed foods filled with palm oil, excess salt, sugar, refined flour, and harmful additives. Items like deep-fried snacks, carbonated drinks, cold beverages, caffeine products, alcohol, and tobacco are widely available everywhere.

Big corporations also take advantage of popularity. They pay huge amounts of money to celebrities and influencers who have large numbers of followers and fans. These celebrities promote such products through advertisements, which influence people—especially young audiences—to buy and consume unhealthy products without understanding their effects.

Because of this environment, people from childhood to old age get used to these unhealthy foods and habits. Many become addicted to taste or certain products at different stages of life. This slowly weakens the body, mind, and overall strength of society. It often feels like unhealthy options are everywhere around us.

That is why self-control is very important. We should stop consuming unhealthy foods from such sources and choose wisely. They may try to influence people in many ways, but the one thing we can do is protect ourselves and spread awareness to others. If individuals stay strong and healthy, society will automatically become strong.

In India, awareness is increasing through social media. Earlier, Rajiv Dixit educated people about health and traditional living. Today, Food Pharmer is actively spreading awareness by questioning food ingredients and promoting healthy choices. He encourages people to read labels through his “Label Padhega India” campaign and song. He compares products, shows what ingredients are added, and explains how they look in reality. He is also creating videos to educate children from a young age. Even while facing challenges, he continues raising important questions and doing great work to educate the people of India. People can follow such initiatives and encourage their family, children, and friends to learn from them.

After COVID, many people in India and around the world are moving towards healthier lifestyles like sattvic diets to keep the body and mind in balance with nature and the universe. Natural living is becoming more important than ever.

The best way to stay healthy is to keep life as natural as possible—natural food, natural milk, clean water, proper sleep, fresh air, yoga, and regular exercise. These simple habits can keep the body and mind strong and balanced.

We should take care of our body from both outside and inside. Just as we clean our body externally every day, we must also keep it clean internally. Eating junk and unhealthy food is like putting garbage into the body, while eating healthy food is like giving it good fuel. Whatever we put into our body directly affects our health, thoughts, and energy.

At the same time, the government and true leadership also have a major responsibility. The Ministry of Health and concerned authorities should focus on regulating unhealthy and unsafe products. They should take strict action against adulterated, fake, unhygienic, and unhealthy food items in the market. Proper rules and control over packaged foods and harmful substances are necessary, as these directly affect the health of the entire nation.

The government should also ensure the supply of fresh and nutritious food, clean drinking water, and a healthy environment with fresh air. In addition, it should provide proper medical facilities, affordable treatment, and access to high-quality medicines at low cost for all people. These basic needs are essential to keep the people of the country strong, healthy, and capable of building a better future.

We may not be able to change the whole system, but today the internet is in our hands. We can study, do research, understand science, and learn the truth. By doing this, we can protect ourselves, our family members, and the people around us. That itself is a great responsibility and contribution.

In conclusion, health is a combination of awareness, discipline, and lifestyle. By avoiding unhealthy habits, choosing natural living, staying active, and spreading awareness, we can build a strong and healthy society. On this World Health Day 2026, let us take responsibility for our own health and help others do the same.
